Minimize Your Hairs Exposure To Heat
Consider A Hair Transplant
If the hair is gone, then the only way to fill that hairline back in is a hair transplant. And dont let that scare youtransplants are much more effective these days, as opposed to the plugs of the past. Doctors can now implant hairs uniformly, densely, and at the proper angle of growth. They can also do so without leaving any scar tissue from the donor site . While hair transplants can be expensive in the US, theyre much more cost-friendly if you get them overseas.
And since they take the hairs from the rear of your headhair that is not genetically designed to recede, thin, and fall outthe effects are lasting. Though, be warned: You will need to keep taking other proactive measures, like finasteride and minoxidil, to keep the rest of your hair full and strong.

How To Prevent A Receding Hairline
When it comes to hair loss, recession is different than general thinningparticularly in its ability to regrow. The scalp produces two types of hair growth and deterioration, James notes. The crown area has proven to respond very well to treatment, but the frontal area of the hairline is difficult to grow new hair. You cannot restore the hairs that have receded, but you can prevent future loss.
Preventing a receding hairline might begin at the first signs of recession or years into the experience . There is no correct time to start taking preventative measures since everyones predisposition to hair loss and recession is different.
Hair recession can be caused by genetic predisposition, hormonal influences, and aging, says Turner. Certain areas of the scalp are affected differently by androgen hormones such as dihydrotestosterone leading to hair recession and eventual male pattern hair loss. If your body kicks this process into high gear will vary from everyone elses case. So, if it hasnt started receding yet, pay close attention to your hairline and act accordingly when it starts to budge. It never hurts to meet with a trichologist or dermatologist in the meantime to understand which of the following steps is good for you and when.

Cosmetic Options For Hair Loss
When medical treatments fall short, women can also consider cosmetic options to make up for lost hair, such as wearing a wig. At the other end of the spectrum is hair transplantation, a surgical procedure that moves active follicles from the back of the scalp to areas where the hair is thinning. Once transplanted, the hair grows normally.
Hair transplantation is typically performed as an outpatient surgical procedure. In appropriate patients, it can be extremely successful, but it wont work for everyone, says Dr. Scott. One drawback is the expense: it can cost thousands of dollars and is not covered by insurance. The procedure also requires recovery time. And it may not be appropriate for women who have diffuse thinning across the whole scalp. Its more effective in treating smaller, more defined areas of balding.

How Extreme Stress Causes Hair Loss
Indeed, science supports the notion that significant emotional stress may be linked to at least one type of hair loss: telogen effluvium. Here is what you need to know about this common type of stress-induced hair loss.
Excess hair shedding may be a sign of telogen effluvium.
What Is Androgenetic Alopecia
Almost every woman eventually develops some degree of female pattern hair loss. It can start any time after the onset of puberty, but women tend to first notice it around menopause, when hair loss typically increases. The risk rises with age, and it’s higher for women with a history of hair loss on either side of the family.
As the name suggests, androgenetic alopecia involves the action of the hormones called androgens, which are essential for normal male sexual development and have other important functions in both sexes, including sex drive and regulation of hair growth. The condition may be inherited and involve several different genes. It can also result from an underlying endocrine condition, such as overproduction of androgen or an androgen-secreting tumor on the ovary, pituitary, or adrenal gland. In either case, the alopecia is likely related to increased androgen activity. But unlike androgenetic alopecia in men, in women the precise role of androgens is harder to determine. On the chance that an androgen-secreting tumor is involved, it’s important to measure androgen levels in women with clear female pattern hair loss.

Chemical Scarring And Burns
Chemicals used in hairdressing dyes, bleaches, perms, straighteners and relaxers may cause hair breakage, rather than true hair loss. However, if the substances are used incorrectly, then they can actually cause damage to the skin and to the hair follicles, causing permanent hair loss. Similarly, burns to the skin can destroy the hair follicles and cause a balding patch. In both of these cases, hair transplantation might be a treatment option, but this depends on the amount of scar tissue present.
In some cases of less severe damage, a gentle shampoo followed by a vitamin E containing is sufficient to relieve the damage.
What Is The Outcome For Someone Who Has Hair Loss
With an accurate diagnosis, many people who have hair loss can see hair regrowth. If you need treatment for regrowth, the earlier you start, the more likely you are to see regrowth.
Its important to understand that:
Not every type of hair loss can be treated, but a dermatologist may be able to prevent further hair loss.
It can take months before you see results from treatment.
No one treatment works for everyone, even two people with the same type of hair loss.
Sometimes, hair loss is stubborn and requires trying different treatments before finding one that works.
Self-care also plays an essential role in preventing and treating hair loss. To find out what dermatologists recommend, go to Hair loss: Self-care.

Small Simple Lifestyle Changes
Since male pattern baldness is caused by a combination of genes and DHT, your habits wont play a role in hair loss.
However, living a healthy lifestyle can help promote optimal growth of the hair you still have, which may help you get a little extra thickness and coverage.
Focusing on healthy habits can also help reduce your risk of other forms of hair loss, such as telogen effluvium.
This form of hair loss is often caused by stress, yet it can also develop as a result of illness, heavy metal ingestion, iron deficiency and fluctuations in certain types of hormone production.
Its worth pointing out that telogen effluvium manifests as diffuse hair loss, vs. simply a receding hairline. So if your hairline is the main location of your hair loss, telogen effluvium likely isnt responsible.
Living a healthy lifestyle and practicing good hygiene can also help prevent other issues that may affect your hair, such as tinea capitis .
For optimal hair growth, avoid using harsh hair care products that irritate the scalp and dry out your hair.
Other positive lifestyle changes, such as quitting smoking, can also help limit damage to your hair that reduces its strength and appearance.
This guide to lifestyle changes for improved hair growth goes into greater detail on what you can do to keep your hair in optimal condition.

How To Stop Thinning Hair: Hair Loss Treatment For Women
Medications are the most common treatment for hair loss in women. They include the following:
Minoxidil . This drug was initially introduced as a treatment for high blood pressure, but people who took it noticed that they were growing hair in places where they had lost it. Research studies confirmed that minoxidil applied directly to the scalp could stimulate hair growth. As a result of the studies, the FDA originally approved over-the-counter 2% minoxidil to treat hair loss in women. Since then a 5% solution has also become available when a stronger solution is need for a woman’s hair loss.
Clearly, minoxidil is not a miracle drug. While it can produce some new growth of fine hair in some not all women, it can’t restore the full density of the lost hair. It’s not a quick fix, either for hair loss in women . You won’t see results until you use the drug for at least two months. The effect often peaks at around four months, but it could take longer, so plan on a trial of six to 12 months. If minoxidil works for you, you’ll need to keep using it to maintain those results. If you stop, you’ll start to lose hair again.
Some women find that the minoxidil solution leaves a deposit that dries and irritates their scalp. This irritation, called contact dermatitis, is probably caused not by the minoxidil itself, but rather by the alcohol that is included to facilitate drying.
Medications To Treat Hair Loss
Treatment depends on the underlying cause, says Dr. Scott. Sometimes simply addressing a medical condition prompting hair loss will be enough for the hair to regrow. In other instances, a woman might consider a medication like minoxidil , which helps with certain types of hair loss, or another treatment to replace or regrow lost hair.
A newer option being used to treat hair loss is platelet-rich plasma injections. For this treatment, the doctor draws your blood, divides it into its separate components, recombines the blood fluid with a high concentration of platelets , and introduces the resulting preparation back into the scalp.
The science on this isnt totally worked out. We still dont completely understand the mechanism behind PRP, but growth factors contained in platelets can stimulate regeneration of hair follicles and other tissues as well, says Dr. Scott.
In addition, low-level LED laser lights have been found to be helpful in regrowing hair in some cases. Its likely that even more treatments will be developed in the near future.

Figure 3normal Hair Cycle
Hair cycle in mammals has an intrinsic rhythmic behaviour and this is modified by systemic and local factors. Humans have an asynchronous hair cycle and the duration of anagen and the final length of hair differ between regions of the body. A number of molecular signals including growth factors, nuclear receptors, cytokines and intracellular signalling pathways are involved in controlling the hair cycle. Growth factors such as IGF-1, hepatocyte growth factor, keratinocyte growth factor and vascular endothelial growth factor promote anagen phase of the hair cycle. Similarly, transforming growth factor-beta , interleukin 1-alpha and tumor necrosis factor-alpha promote onset of catagen .
In MAA tiny, pale hairs gradually replace large, pigmented ones. Androgens appear to reduce alopecia hair colour by inhibiting dermal papilla stem cell factor production, which is important in embryonic melanocyte migration and bulbar melanocyte pigmentation .
Hair Follicle Miniaturization Under The Microscope
As we mentioned above, the presence of hair follicle miniaturization is one of the easiest ways for doctors to distinguish AGA from other types of hair loss.
In healthy heads, or the heads of those who suffer from other types of hair loss, most hairs are generally similar in diameter . Zooming in at the scalp of someone with AGA, however, reveals a different picture. Between healthy hairs are interspersed hairs that are undergoing various stages of miniaturization. The result is hair strands of distinctly unequal size, i.e. greater hair diameter diversity . You can see how healthy hair compares to miniaturized follicles here.
Miniaturized hairs will be most common in parts of the head that are actively thinning, . Over time, all the remaining hairs in the affected area will miniaturize and eventually disappear. The result is then complete baldness.

Get Familiar With Prp And Lllt
PRP and LLLT are two next-level methods used to keep hair strong. They stand for Plasma-Rich Platelets and Low-Level Laser Therapy, both of which are worth inquiring about with your doctor.
With PRP, a blood sample is extracted from the patients arm, and then it is placed in a centrifuge to separate the plasma from the blood. Plasma contains certain proteins and growth factors that may help cellular repair and regrowth of hair follicles, Turner says. This is why the plasma is then injected around the head to jumpstart hair follicles and boost hairs growth and strength.
Then there is LLLT. Low-level laser therapy is an emerging method to treat hair loss, as it may stimulate cellular regrowth and improve blood circulation, Turner says.
These technologies, along with other emerging techniques, can evolve quickly. Theyre often quite expensive, too. So, its important to speak with your doctor about effective treatments that work for you.

Frontal Hair Loss Causes:
There can be many reasons for hair loss. Few of them being hormonal changes, improper diet, genetic reasons, wrong hair care, scalp infections, high pollution in your area and others. But when it comes to male hair loss reasons, one of the main reasons is hormonal imbalance in hair as well as scalp. Other one is genetic disorder which leads to baldness of the hair. DHT is one of the main hormones also called as androgen. It is mainly found in males and is responsible for hair loss problems. DHT is the major hormone responsible for male organ and features development. At times, this hormone is found in women too in small quantities. Hence, if the is a bit excess of it then it leads to secondary male characteristics in women like growth of facial hair and sudden loss of hair.
