A few months later, the first sneaky patch appeared on the back of my head. Then it got bigger. Then another patch appeared. And, well it was back to being an egghead.
But maybe if Id continued using Nioxin, I couldve prevented the spread? Hindsight, youre so damn easy.
Still, while I used it, Nioxin cleanser gave me fuller, stronger hair. Most importantly, it gave me hair! So, of course, theres plenty to like about it. And thats why my Nioxin shampoo review is, for the most part, pretty positive.

The Most Important Characteristics Of Rogaine
Basically, one of the most important characteristics that make Rogaine stand out is that it contains Minoxidil.
This ingredient was originally designed to treat high blood pressure, but it showed that it was effective to cause hair growth.
Doctors generally recommend that women use a 2% Minoxidil solution, while men recommend a 5% solution.
Statistics, among which I can be found, speak highly about this product: 40% of women confirm that they note an emerging hair growth after six months of use.
As I said before, the product comes in various forms, like a spray, foam, and a topical solution.
Until here, we have a clear idea that Nioxin is basically used to make your hair thicker, while Rogaine is meant to stop hair loss by making new hair fibers grow.
As promises are made to be kept, Ill tell you about my experience with the two products.
You may ask why I have experience with each of them?
Because unlike you, I didnt have anyone who could explain what each one was used for.
What Does Nioxin Contain
Nioxin contains a mix of herbs and botanicals that deliver nutrients to the scalp, blocking DHT in the process. Its patented Bioamp technology adds thickness to each hair shaft making it appear thicker and stronger.
Nioxin cleansers and shampoos also contain ZPT or zinc pyrithione. This is the only medication that is known to treat dandruff and leave the scalp completely clean and healthy. It is a proven formula to get rid of scalp ringworm and control itchiness caused by fungal microorganisms. Nioxin shampoos contain nearly 1% ZPT, so, with regular use, you experience reduced flaking, itching or scaling typically associated with seborrheic dermatitis and other scalp issues that lead to excess hair fall.

Nioxin Reviews Side Effects
There are some adverse side effects from some users who have more sensitive skin as the scalp treatment bottle can be harsh if applied on the skin, leading to rashes. Other side effects users complained about what the issue of hair feeling greasy, which is expected from the fat being added to the hair shaft.
What Do I Think Of Nioxin
I like Nioxin. Ive always liked it. You can pretty much always find it in my shower.
I love the scalp tingle and how it makes your hair feel when using it. It conditions your hair without weighing it down, which is perfect for my fine, yet damaged hair.

How Long Before I Notice Results
Because were all different, I cant give you a clear answer on that one. Sorry.
But personally, I had thicker, fuller hair after just 2 weeks. I noticed some white fuzz growing back after using the above 8 products for about a month and my hair grew back after 3 months of use.
Unfortunately, when I stopped using Nioxin, my hair began falling out again. Maybe I shouldve kept it up, or at least for the 6 months that the manufacturer recommends.
Id recommend using these treatments for at least 3 months. If you dont notice any results within this period, it might be time to give it a rest and try something else. My other fave shampoo for hair loss, incidentally, is . And it doesnt have any bad side effects .
The Recent Nioxin Reviews Ive Read About This System Are Glowing
They emphasise that the products will not regrow hair . But they do promote a much healthier scalp, which in turn can lead to regeneration of the skin cells and new hair to take root.
Its also worth noting that if you order from Amazon, make sure you check reviews for that particular supplier. Some suppliers have been reported to send out trial-size kits while charging customers for the full system. So do your research first!

I Have Used Nioxin For Several Years Prior To Being Dx
last summer. I used it because my hair right in front was thinning. It did a good job. I used the shampoo and conditioner but only used the Folicle Booster in the area that was thinning. Are you going to use it on your whole head?
But now my hairdresser has me using a product called Enjoy. It’s a shampoo, conditioner and “stimulator”. The stimulator is a foam that is used after you are out of the shower and towel dried. I have been using it for about a month on the top of my head where the hair is slow coming in. It seems to be doing ok and I have lots of new growth. My hairdresser started using it on customers last summer but I didn’t bother cause I was going to be getting chemo.
Enjoy is a little cheaper than Nioxin. Are you going to use it all over your head or just in bare spots? When was you last chemo?
