5 Ways to Naturally Regrow Hair if You Are Balding or Thinning | How to Regrow Hair Naturally

Most people will experience hair loss at some point in life. This can be very upsetting but its usually something that can be controlled. If you are noticing more hair fallout than usual, you should begin by trying to regrow hair naturally. This involves improving your diet, taking vitamins, massaging your scalp and reducing stress.

Hair loss is a problem that strikes many people, particularly as they age. Hair loss is so common that there are countless solutions available to combat the problem. Products and treatments that boost hair growth can be expensive and some options, such as surgery, can even be painful. Many people seek ways to regrow hair naturally because this tends to be cheaper and has fewer side effects.

One of the best ways to regrow hair naturally is to use vitamins. Vitamins such as biotin have been proven to boost hair growth. A multivitamin that contains zinc and copper can help, but be careful not to take too much zinc on its own. Vitamin E improves circulation throughout your body. Scalp circulation is essential for new hair growth so taking Vitamin E supplements is another great way to regrow hair naturally.

Scalp Massage 10 Minutes Daily

Step 4 is 10 minutes daily of scalp massages.

This is probably the most important step, so make sure you dont skip it.

Male pattern baldness is primarily caused by tension in the scalp, by using scalp massages we help reduce this tension, and so the hair can regrow.

Without reducing this tension the hair has a much, much harder time to regrow.

But by removing the tension, the hair can regrow much more easily.

It makes all the other hair loss treatments much more effective.

With the addition of 10 minutes of scalp massages per day, thats when I really started to notice more hair.

I want to show you exactly how to perform the scalp massages, so we made these videos:

Hair loss can affect your self-esteem, appearance, and confidence. You may feel powerless over your own body, but the truth is thereâs a lot you can do to slow or even reverse your hair loss.

Drugs That Regrow Hair

There are two FDA-approved pharmaceuticals that can regrow hair.

Minoxidil can reverse hair loss for both men and women, although researchers dont fully understand how it works. Chemists discovered it by accident when they were trying to make a drug to decrease high blood pressure. Minoxidil can cause heart palpitations in rare cases, but the bigger issues are minodoxils unpleasant texture and inflammatory properties. Minoxidil leaves a greasy residue in your hair, which is particularly challenging for women, and one of the leading reasons they stop using it.

Compliance is a huge issue with minoxidil, Kogan says. A lot of people also experience scalp irritation or inflammation as a result of it.

Another downside? Minoxidil sometimes makes your hair fall out, and faster, although researchers dont know why.

Finasteride is the second FDA-approved drug for hair loss, specifically for men. It blocks 5-alpha reductase, the enzyme in your hair follicles that converts testosterone to DHT. Finasteride decreases DHT levels by about 60 percent, which is great for reversing hair loss, but blocking sex hormone synthesis has a lot of side effects. The biggest ones with finasteride are erectile dysfunction, low sex drive, and trouble ejaculating, likely because it interferes with circulating testosterone and DHT beyond just your hair follicles.

How Can You Tell The Difference Between Thinning Hair And Male Pattern Baldness

Natural Ways to Regrow Hair

The best way to tell the difference between naturally thinning hair and going bald is the hair loss’s location and progression.

When going bald, the hair loss begins at the temple, hairline, or crown and gradually enlarges over time. If your hair is regularly coming out when washing or clumping, it is more likely to be a different form of hair loss.

Hair thinning will be a more general loss of hair predominately from the top of the head rather than the front or crown.

Suppose you suffer dramatic hair loss, with entire clumps of hair from random locations on your head. It could be a sign of a more serious medical condition, and you should consult with a medical professional.

Stimulate Hair Growth Directly With A Dermaroller

There have been quite a few scientific studies that show just how effective a dermaroller can be to trigger new hairs to appear.

In this section Im going to give you a quick overview of these studies and then Ill show you a simple method you can use to get started with the hair regrowth process.

Firstly, what is a dermaroller? A dermaroller is a small hand held device with lots of tiny metals pins attached to it. As you roll it over your skin, the tiny metals pins prick the dermal layer. This stimulates blood flow as well as stimulating collagen proudction.

The result is that the instead of the skin becoming hard and stiff the skin becomes flushed with blood, soft and supple.

If you touch different parts of your scalp now youll notice that at the back of the head where the hair is thick, the skin is soft and elastic. At the front along the crown and temples, the skin is less pliable, less elastic, thinner and tougher.

My point here is that elastic, supple and blood engorged skin is the ultimate prerequisite for hair growth.

The dermaroller helps return the skin to its natural state of suppleness.

I recommend using a 0.5mm dermaroller to get started. Any smaller and there is little affect on the skin because the pin doesnt penetrate deep enough.

You can also try a larger size, for example in the study below a size of 1.5mm was used.

The technique for using the dermaroller is to hold it lightly against the skin and move it across the skin in multiple directions .

Things I Did To Regrow My Lost Hair

1. Give yourself a Head Massage

But why?

Because head massage is really really good for your hair. Okay, that was a short explanation.

Heres the detailed one:

When you head massage, it stimulates the scalp circulation and brings with it more oxygen and nutrients for your hair follicles. More nourishment means your hair will grow healthier and stronger.

Another question that arises is should you use oil? Well, its not necessary, its your choice. You can massage with or without oil. But if you choose to use oil, make sure you use cold pressed oils like coconut, castor, almond or olive oil.

How to massage? Apply oil on your scalp and massage gently for 5 minutes or so. Let the oil soak in for an hour before washing, or you can also keep it overnight for better conditioning. For healthier and stronger hair, head massage at least once a week.

2. Ditch Store-bought Conditioners

I tend to stay away from conditioners as they are one of the culprits of my hair loss.

When you apply conditioner, you are putting more chemicals on your scalp and hair. And since they are heavy and thick, they can clog your hair follicles and halt growth.

So what do you do?

Keep your hair care as simple as possible. You can pre-condition your hair with coconut or almond oil and then shampoo. Plus, you can replace the conditioner with plant infusion or hair rinse .

3. Use Herbal Rinse

4. Use a Wide-Tooth Wood Comb

5. Fingernail Rubbing

Protect Ends With An Essential Oil

The ends of your hair can bear the brunt of damage that happens while you sleep. Even if you sleep on your back, you might end up crushing longer locks without even knowing it.

You can help protect your ends by using essential oils before you head to bed. Argan oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, or even coconut oil are all good places to start. Secure your hair in a braid or with a fabric scrunchie, then warm a few drops of the oil between your palms by rubbing your hands together. You only need a tiny bit. Apply the oil to your hair, focusing especially on the ends. This can help seal your hair against friction and prevent split ends from getting started.

Check Your Vitamin D Levels

There might be a connection between lower levels of vitamin D and having spot baldness. Therefore, consulting with your doctor and getting the necessary checks could be important. Using vitamin D supplements that are prescribed by your doctor, maintaining a healthy diet, and exposing yourself to the sun might help you treat hair loss way faster than you expected.

Growband 10 Minutes Daily

Setp 5 is all about further reducing scalp tension, and at the same time, increasing blood flow and growth hormones to the hair follicles.

For me, this step made a big difference.

I can really feel my scalp become flushed with blood and oxygen when I use the Growband.

Just like the scalp massages, I use the Growband for 10 minutes each day

This device helps lift up the scalp around the perimeter allowing more blood to flow into the top of the scalp.

It also helps stretch the tissues at the back and massage those muscles. By reducing the tension at the back, the hairs all over the head have much more room to grow properly.

Using the Growband is simple.

Place it on your head where it sits comfortably. Put it in the position where inflating it causes your scalp to rise up.

Inflate until you can feel your scalp being firmly squeezed upwards, hold for around a few seconds, and then deflate.

Continue this cycle for 10 minutes.

What you want to aim for as a good indicator that the Growband is working is when you inflate it your scalp rises upwards and when you deflate it your scalp moves downwards. This shows its in the right position.

Sometimes Ill adjust the position of the Growband slightly so that it stretches different parts of the scalp.

Dont over-inflate the Growband so that it squeezes too hard. Youll know when to stop pumping it because youre scalp wont be rising up anymore.

Thats the first 5 steps, and the most important ones.

Does Hair Thinning Means Balding

30 Ways to Regrow Hair Naturally

No, male pattern baldness is a hereditary genetic issue.

While thinning hair is a sign of going bald, having thinning hair doesn’t mean you are going bald.

If you have male pattern baldness, you lose your hair because your body becomes more susceptible to male sex hormones known as androgens.

Androgens are crucial for male sexual and reproductive function. They control everything from secondary sex characteristics to bone, muscle, and most importantly, hair growth.

Thinning hair can be a side effect of medication, stress, illness, hormonal changes, and scalp infections. In almost all of these cases, lost hair is rarely permanent.
